SOL Packaging

Relays | Retail Packaging

THE ASK
Create a packaging design concept for Sol Republic’s earbud and speaker product line that allows customers to see the product before committing to purchase. Define a packaging design language that can be applied to other products in the family while considering the unboxing experience.

  • Led the creation of a distinctive packaging design language, first implemented with the Relay earbuds, that became a scalable system across multiple SKUs. The solution reinforced brand presence at retail while reducing design time and cost for future packaging initiatives.

  • Hired as an independent contractor to lead the conceptualization and design of new packaging for Relay earbuds. I developed multiple concepts that emphasized visibility, shelf impact, and brand alignment. The work included creating a translatable design language and guiding the project from early ideation through final concept handoff.

APPROACH
Collaborated closely with Sol Republic’s design team - Greg McNamara and Sindre Klepp - to define core packaging principles, including direct visual access to the product. Focused on concepts that balance transparency with printable real estate to maximize shelf impact.
